This program provides free leaf collection services to residents who place leaves in rows or piles between the curb and sidewalk or adjacent to the street in areas not having curb and sidewalk.
The city is divided into 11 or more snow removal zones, each with 15 to 20 miles of roadways. Most are bordered by major thoroughfares. During winter weather events, each area is assigned a truck with a plow and salt spreader.
The Street Division monitors the street sweeping contract. The contractor sweeps arterial and collector streets twice per month, the downtown area 1 time per week and residential streets 5 times per year.
Annual Christmas Tree Recycling
Remember to participate in the City’s Christmas Tree Recycling program and give your natural Christmas tree a new purpose after the holidays! Through this program, trees will be diverted from the landfill and shredded for use in commercial mulch. Trees may be dropped off at Waterworks Park on Groh Lane from December 26 through the second Sunday in January. A tree disposal corral will be provided by Public Works in the south parking area of Waterworks Park.
