Hosted by the Fairfield Police Department, Ready & Able is a dynamic self-defense class designed to help you take control of your personal safety while building inner strength, self-confidence, and community. It offers practical, hands-on training in awareness, assertiveness, and proven self-defense techniques — no prior experience necessary.

   Registration is free and open to any individual who lives, works, or goes to school in Fairfield. Spots are limited and are filled on a first come, first served basis. Additional sessions will be offered in the future.

    As a participant in any program of the City of Fairfield Police Department (the Department), I acknowledge and assume the risks of such participation and in consideration of my participation being permitted, I hereby release and discharge the Department, its officers, agents, employees and volunteers from many and all claims, injuries (including death) or damages arising from such participation. In further consideration of the Department allowing me and/or any minor for whom I am executing this document on behalf of, to participate in any program sponsored by the Department, and with the intent of being legally bound, I do hereby, for myself and/or any minor for whom I am executing this document on behalf of, all heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns, forever release, waive and relinquish all claims I or the minors may have as a result of participating in this or any other program of the Department and agree to indemnify and hold harmless and defend the Department, its officers, employees, agents and volunteers from any and all liabilities, claims, demands, actions or causes of action resulting from, whether directly or indirectly, my participation or the participation of the minor for whom I am executing this document on behalf of in this or any other program.

    Additionally, I do hereby grant and give the Department the right to use my or the minor’s photograph or image with or without my or the minor’s name, both single and in conjunction with other persons or objects for any and all purposes including, but not limited to, private or public presentations, advertising, publicity and promotions relating thereto.

    By checking the box on this registration form, I certify that I have read and agree to be bound by these conditions, and that all information provided therein or otherwise provided to the Department is true and that I am giving up the legal rights discussed in the preceding paragraph(s). If the participant is a minor, I execute this agreement on behalf of the minor as parent or guardian.
