Court Filings
You can file your documents with the Court by the following:
- In person.
- Mail.
- Fax.
- Email.
In person
The Clerk’s Office is open Monday – Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. The Court is closed on Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays recognized by the City of Fairfield.
Should you desire to mail your document(s) to the Court, please send to: Fairfield Municipal Court, 675 Nilles Road, Fairfield, OH, 45014. Your filing will be time-stamped the day it is received unless there is an unpaid filing fee. The document will be time-stamped and processed once the filing fee is paid.

Email / eFile
To use eFile, three items are needed:
- You must have an email account.
- The filing document must be in PDF format.
- You must have a debit or credit card for payment.
- The eFile process is the emailing of the document to the Court, a Clerk reviewing it and replying with a confirmation email. The case management system used by the Court does not have the capability of instantaneously filing the document.
- Any filing fee for the document must be paid within 48 hours upon receipt of the confirmation email or the filing will be stricken from the record.
- The filing fee must be paid by debit or credit card. Five Point Payments LLC processes and charges a service fee. The Court does not charge a fee for using the eFile option.
- Documents must be uploaded and submitted by 11:59:59 p.m. local observed time in Fairfield, Ohio, on or before the date they are due. Documents will be time-stamped and journalized the day there are received.
- Documents submitted through the eFile portal after 4:30 p.m. will not be reviewed by the Clerk’s Office until the next business day. The documents will be timely if they comply with the Ohio Rules of Criminal Procedure, Ohio Rules of Civil Procedure and/or Local Rules and were received on or before midnight on the date they are due.
- Review of documents for compliance can take up to two business days. Documents that do not comply cannot be accepted for filing.
- Unless you are filing a Civil Complaint, use of the eFile portal does not alter the filer’s obligation to serve the other parties to the case.
Instructions to file by email:
- Please email the Complaint, Answer, Motion or other pleading, in PDF format, to eFile@fairfield-city.org
- Documents filed through the eFile email shall include a scanned version of the original signature or a signature line with a forward slash followed by an “s” followed by the person’s name in print (e.g., /s ”Jane B. Doe”).
- All documents must include the filing person’s name, address, telephone number and email address.
- The Court will only accept filings for one case number per email. If you desire to file multiple documents for one case, you may attach and include them in a single email. If you are sending documents for different case numbers, they must be sent in separate emails or your email will be rejected.
- Filings received before 4:30 p.m. on Monday – Friday will be recorded as “filed” on the day of filing. Filings received after 4:30 p.m., or on Holidays and weekends, will be recorded as “filed” on the next business day.
- Within 48 (forty-eight) hours, you will receive a confirmation email advising you to log-onto the website (https://eservices.fairfield-city.org/eservices/home.page.2 )and pay any filing fee. Please note: Five Point Payments LLC charges a service fee. The Court does not charge a fee for filing your documents through eFile portal. The website will permit you to pay for one case number. There is no pay option to pay for a group of cases.
- If the filing fee is not paid within 48 (forty-eight) hours, the Court will strike the filing from the docket as if it was never filed and you will need to start over from the beginning. There is NO option to be invoiced, nor will the Court wait for payment sent by mail.

Do I have to register to use the e-File portal?
ANSWER: No. The e-File portal is the process of sending an email and attaching the PDF filing.
Do I need to mail to the Court copies of the PDF document?
ANSWER: No.
What are the signature requirements for e-File document?
ANSWER: All documents must include a signature block with a signature, typed name, address, phone number, email address and Ohio Bar Registration Number (if applicable). What documents can be e-Filed?
ANSWER: Any document can be filed through eFile. After the document is reviewed, you will receive a confirmation email and requesting payment if there is a filing fee due. If this is not paid within forty-eight (48) hours of request, your filing will be stricken for non-payment.
Can I file documents for multiple case numbers in one email?
ANSWER: No. Only one case number or new Complaint per email. If you have multiple documents to file with the same case number, they can all be included in one email.
