The purpose of the Fairfield Police Department’s Citizen Police Academy is to give residents a better understanding of the role and capabilities of their police department. It also serves to give the police a better understanding of citizen concerns and expectations.
Each session of the Citizen Police Academy is held for 12 or more consecutive weeks on Tuesday evenings from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Police Department. The class is open to adults who live or work in the City of Fairfield, and the class is conducted in a casual setting that is open to questions and discussion. Ride-alongs with the Patrol Section are offered during the class session. Each person must submit to a criminal background check before admission to the class.
