Education & Preschool

The Parks & Recreation department offers a variety of educational and preschool classes for all ages and interests. Below are some of our most popular / regular classes, but click the "Explore & Register" button to check out everything we have to offer!

  • S.M.A.R.T.I.E.S (ages 4-6) and Pre S.M.A.R.T.I.E.S (ages 3-4) is our school-year educational, recreational and nature program, focused on hands-on learning. Classes are two-hours long, and two or three days a week.  
  • Time to Learn is our adult / child program held in two-month sessions for 2-3 year olds, where you can bond with your child and help them get ready for kindergarten. 
  • Snapology is a fun and creative program focused on STEAM subjects for 3-5 year olds.
  • Kids in the Kitchen introduces little ones to the joys of cooking with fun and engaging recipes and techniques.

S.M.A.R.T.I.E.S. - For ages 4–6
Social studies, science, Math, Art, and Reading Together In an Educational Surrounding

Meets Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 1 – 3 p.m. at the Fairfield Community Arts Center.
A hands-on approach to academics through education, recreation, and nature that will help your child excel in kindergarten.

This program runs from September - May. 
Registration rates are $170/month for Fairfield residents, $190/month for non-residents. 

PreS.M.A.R.T.I.E.S. - For ages 3-4 

Meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. – noon at the Fairfield Community Arts Center.
Through arts and crafts, our recreation/education/nature program will help teach your child to recognize letters, shapes, and colors. Along with fine and gross motor skills, socialization skills are introduced.

This program runs from September - May. 
Registration rates are $130/month for Fairfield residents, $145/month for non-residents.
