South Gilmore Improvements Mack to Resor

In late 2020, the City was awarded $2,457,806 in Surface Transportation Program funding by the Ohio-Kentucky-Indiana Regional Council of Governments (OKI) to add a lane on South Gilmore between Mack and Resor Roads.  It has long been the City's goal to remove the southbound merge before Resor, as it is a congestion and safety concern, but topographic challenges have made the project too costly without outside funding.  An additional significant feature of the project is a new sidewalk between Planet Dr. and Mack Road.  Included in the project are storm sewer improvements, curb, retaining walls, concrete sidewalk, full depth asphalt, thermoplastic pavement markings, and a new mast arm traffic signal at the intersection with Resor.  Early in 2021, the City selected Strand Associates to lead the design team.  Construction is scheduled for 2024.
