Water & Sewer Charges
Water and sewer charges are based on the amount of water used each month, measured by a meter at the residence or business. Rates are based on a combination of minimum charges (which are assessed according to meter size), plus charges for additional water and sewer used beyond the minimum. Most residential accounts are serviced by a 3/4 inch meter, which corresponds to the minimum monthly usage of 3,000 gallons per month.

Additional Charges
- Water usage beyond the minimum is charged at $5.34 per thousand gallons.
- Sewer usage beyond the minimum is charged at $6.60 per thousand gallons.
Billing Example
Assume that a residential customer uses 6,500 gallons per month.
Water
- Subtract the minimum monthly use from the total usage:
- 6,500 gallons - 3,000 gallons = 3,500 gallons
- The first 3,000 gallons are charged at the minimum charge rate of $17.46.
- The usage beyond the minimum (3,500 gallons) is charged at $5.34 per thousand gallons:
- First 3,000 gallons = $17.46
- Remaining 3,500 gallons/1,000 = 3.5 x $5.34 = $18.69
- Water total: $17.46 + $18.69 = $36.15
Sewer
- Subtract the minimum monthly use from the total usage:
- 6,500 gallons - 3,000 gallons = 3,500 gallons
- The first 3,000 gallons are charged at the minimum charge rate of $19.80.
- The usage beyond the minimum (3,500 gallons) is charged at $6.60 per thousand gallons:
- First 3,000 gallons = $19.80
- Remaining 3,500 gallons/1,000 = 3.5 x $6.43 = $23.10
- Sewer total: $19.80 + $23.10 = $42.90
Total Bill
Total water and sewer bill for the month:
Sewer = $42.90
Water = $36.15
Total = $79.05
Trash Charges
The current trash cost is $16.13 per month for curbside service and $9.11 per month for dumpster service. The appropriate trash charge will be added to the monthly water and sewer bill.
