Assistant City Manager - Infrastructure

As Fairfield’s chief operating officer, the Assistant City Manager is an executive-level position whose role is crucial in ensuring that the government functions efficiently and effectively, delivering essential services to residents on time and on budget. The Assistant City Manager - COO directly oversees the City's primary infrastructure Departments.

Public Utilities

The Fairfield Public Utilities Department provides water and sanitary sewer services to a population of over 44,000. To provide these services, the City pumps and treats close to 2 billion gallons of drinking water per year, and collects and treats roughly the same amount of wastewater. The City also maintains over 350 miles of water and sewer mains and all other related facilities.

Public Works

The Fairfield Public Works Department maintains 408 lane miles of roadway, 252 miles of curb, 116 miles of storm sewer, 61 traffic signals, a fleet of over 225 vehicles and 60 major pieces of equipment, and services to our over 44,000 residents. 

Parks and Recreation

The Fairfield Parks and Recreation Department operates the Fairfield Community Arts Center, Fairfield South Trace 18 Hole Championship Golf Course, Fairfield North Trace 9 Hole Executive Golf Course, and all City Park facilities.

Sustainability

The City of Fairfield has developed a plan to ensure that Fairfield is maximizing its resources in a way that provides efficiency in city operations now and in the future. The plan, 'Fairfield Sustains', will serve as a comprehensive roadmap for addressing environmental, economic, and liveability considerations in the city, and will be a catalyst for quality of life improvements for all residents.
