We invite residents and business owners to partner with us in protecting our city through the CommunityWatch Fairfield camera registry program. If you own a security camera — whether at your home, office, or storefront — you can play a vital role in helping solve crimes and keep our neighborhoods safe.
What is CommunityWatch Fairfield?
It's a voluntary initiative that allows community members and businesses to register the location of their security camera(s) with the Fairfield Police Department, essentially creating a public safety network across the city. This strengthens our neighborhoods by deterring crime, encouraging cooperation and coordination between the community and law enforcement, and supporting criminal apprehension.
Why Register Your Camera?
Help Solve Crimes Faster: When time is critical, knowing where surveillance footage may exist helps investigators respond faster and smarter, accelerating the identification and prosecution of offenders.
Deter Criminal Activity: A strong partnership between the community and law enforcement sends a clear message to criminals — Our city stands together.
No Risk, All Reward: Participation in the program is 100% voluntary and does not provide the FPD with live access to your security system. You will only be contacted if we believe you may have valuable video evidence.
