The South Route 4 Urban Paving Program is a repair and resurfacing project along 1.37 miles of Route 4 within Fairfield from the southern corporation limit to Seward Road. The project will extend 2500' into Springdale. Curb and base failure repairs will be made, while a new surface course, thermoplastic pavement markings, and raised pavement markers will be installed. $2,329,498 of the cost was covered by a grant from the Ohio Department of Transportation. The City was also awarded an OPWC grant worth $600,000 to help cover the construction cost of work performed within Fairfield. Fairfield and Springdale selected Choice One Engineering to perform design services.
