The 2024 Ross and Resor Sidewalks project will close two gaps in the City's sidewalk network. Sidewalk at each location was originally not constructed due to challenging conditions, leaving gaps in pedestrian access. Engineering was completed in 2023. This project aligns with our Fairfield Connects Plan, our long range connectivity plan.
Ross Road between Mack Road and Dixie Highway. The construction of 875 feet of sidewalk along Ross will require the addition of curb and storm sewer, along with the extending a storm culvert. Space constraints necessitate a complete closure of Ross Road, at Chapel Hill, for four weeks, beginning September 9, 2024. The detour will be posted on the City's detour webpage.
Resor Road at the southwest corner of Crestview Avenue. Construction of 230 feet of sidewalk at this location will require a small retaining wall and some minor grading work.
This project is 100% funded by American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds allocated by Butler County to the City for improving pedestrian access.
